What Makes WordPress so Much Better?

What Makes WordPress so Much Better than off the shelf DIY website builders like WIX and Squarespace is not just the flexibility to integrate other programs and evolve over time with technology, it’s the fundamental approach people have towards websites. Many traditional businesses see websites as an online business card. They enter their contact information, upload a logo, drag and drop content blocks and “boom!!” when they search for themselves they find themselves. The reality is that that’s just not the way the world works. Unless you have a product or service that’s in demand and no one needs to vet you that approach doesn’t work. What works is educating prospects, clients, and even employees about your product(s) and service(s). You do that by posting original content blog posts, or having someone like VOX do it for you, optimizing those posts to be found by search engines, syndicating those posts to your social media networks that link the post back to your website, and including those posts in a monthly newsletter. Now one blog post on your WordPress website appears in different forms on your blog page, as a Twitter, Facebook, Linked In, and Google Plus post, as a story and link in your newsletter, and online within your RSS feed. Your post appears in at least seven different locations. So that’s good for organic SEO.

But even more than that, your compelling original content post can be used to educate prospects as to the value of your product or service. That’s critical because it matches the way people make purchasing decisions. Let’s face it. When you are looking to make a big purchase you do research. And the way you do that research is by going online. You’re looking for information not price. Initially, why is this product or service so valuable? The answer to all of your questions could be on review sites or Wikipedia, but those answers could also live on blog posts within a business website. In other words, the information your prospects are looking for could be on your website as could comments from people who have rated them. That’s the kind of stuff that converts sales. Own the information and tell your story. A WIX website is designed as a static online poster. A WordPress website is purpose built for you to tell your story. It’s also what we do for our clients so they can focus on their core business.
