What you should know about AI

 In AI

What you should know about AI is that the first letter stands for “artificial” and that comes with risks and liabilities. What you should know about AI for content generation is that it’s a rehash of existing content online and that if your company is not dialed-in on this you could actually end up promoting your competitor or worse publishing opinion, trending content, rumors and falsehoods.

What you should know about AI today, is that it’s not going to make life easier or less expensive for your business and that subscribing to services like VEO and ChatGPT so that you can do your marketing internally won’t work because:

  1. Highly regulated industries are at risk because the information gleaned from the internet sources may be wrong or based on biases and trending content rather than facts
  2. Competitors copying and pasting content directly from ChatGPT may be identical to your content
  3. Adapting to these new tools can be a time suck for employees without a background in SEO or video animation allowing for less time for their core responsibilities

What you should know about AI is that the sales pitch doesn’t match the intent. The pitch is AI will make life easier while improving efficiencies and eliminating jobs. The intent may be to have users unknowingly teach AI how to eliminate their own jobs and all these platforms including Google, Meta, and Open AI, etc. are driven to control information on the internet. What you should know about AI is that it is in development and you need a partner to help educate you about optimization and risks while editing and vetting the content before you publish it. My instincts are that many of these services will start as free until there are enough users to allow Google to make you subscribe in order to use Search. You’ll need to pay for the information that is free today. That’s what you should know about AI.
