The Southeast Ventura County YMCA is home to four locations in the region. This includes their latest facility the Yarrow Family YMCA in Westlake Village California.
The Southeast Ventura County YMCA was gifted a tract of land and initial construction costs for a 60,000 square foot, two-story structure with two pools, indoor basketball court, gymnasium, and locker rooms among other facilities. As the smoke cleared it became apparent that the Y would need to raise an additional $6,000,000 in funding to complete the job. The challenge was to raise awareness of the project and help to collect the additional funding necessary to complete the project.
Six million dollars in funding raised, Facebook ‘Likes’ up 73%, Twitter ‘Follows’ up 453%, and YouTube views up by 764%
To address the challenge VOX:
- Built an online community website with a newsletter to engage visitors and get the word out
- Produced drone video content to share progress
- Implemented a sweepstakes through Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube
- Reached more than 100,00 people in twelve months
- Was engaged as the Y collected the remaining $6,000,000 in funding
