VOX is proud to announce that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has approved our client’s patient-centric, virtual hospital bed model to go nationwide in conjunction with the leading healthcare providers to immediately increase hospital beds to address and manage the COVID -19 surge as well as to care for other high-acuity patients. Their model is described here. But what’s exciting about the model is not that hospitals suddenly, effectively, and safely increase bed capacity, (which is the point of the model and the need that is solved here), but what’s exciting is that patients stay in their own homes, nurses re-establish personal relationships with patients, doctors see more patients, hospitals treat more patients, the cost for care goes down, the risk to personal injury and infection goes down, recovery times speed up, payers can cover more people, and the dream of merging technology with the human touch is realized. This is the advent of what will be known as patient-centric, telehealth. This is the new model of healthcare for all Americans and VOX is thrilled to be a small part of it. Read the press release.
